Safety / Pick Up / Drop Off / Visitor Parking

Parras Middle School has one parking lot at the front of the school for visitors off of Lucia Street.  There is a lane through the parking lot for student pick up and drop off.  The lot does become congested at the beginning and end of school, so it is recommended that you arrive early for drop off or arrive later for pick up.  If you come to visit our school, please make sure you check in at the main office.

A REMINDER ABOUT TRAFFIC LAWS AND SAFETY

In order to protect the safety of our students, please do not double-park on Prospect Street when dropping off or picking up your student.  Please pull forward on Prospect and drop your student off at the street curb.  When students are dropped off in the traffic lane on Prospect Street and not at the curbside it is putting them in a dangerous situation.

Please do not pull U-turns in the middle of Prospect Street.  It creates a dangerous situation with traffic behind you and for any oncoming cars.

Encourage your child to use the cross walks and not to run across the street in front of cars.

Please do not park in red zones that surround our school.  When you park in red zones, even temporarily, you block the view of students and cars from other vehicles.

Please obey the speed limit signs around our school.  There are children who sometimes have bad judgement in the area, so it's important that you drive slowly and are aware of your surroundings.

Please don't park in handicapped parking spots without a placard.  We have students and parents who have disabilities who need access to these parking spots.
